Questions
Common questions
Can you convert my vinyl records to MP3?
Yes. We transfer vinyl records to digital files at our Louisville store. MP3 is our standard format, and other file formats are available on request.
What record speeds can you transfer?
We transfer LP and single records at 33, 45 and 78 RPM. If you are not sure what you have, bring it in and we will help you identify it.
Do I get separate files for each song?
Your choice. We can split each side into individual song files, or deliver one file per side of the record.
Can you remove scratches and pops from old records?
Our sound cleanup reduces minor scratches, pops and background noise. Deep scratches and heavy wear can not always be fully removed, but most records sound noticeably cleaner.
How will I receive my digital music?
We deliver your finished audio on a USB drive, DVD or CD, or by digital download.
Do my records leave your store?
No. Every vinyl transfer is done in house at our Louisville location, and your original records are returned to you.
Can you transfer cassettes and reel to reel tapes too?
Yes. See our audio transfer services for cassettes and reel to reel tape, or contact us with questions about your collection.
