Questions
Common questions
What film formats do you accept?
8mm, Super 8 and 16mm, both silent and sound. Bring your reels in and we will identify the format and size at drop-off.
Do my reels leave the store?
No. All transfers are done in-house at our Louisville location. Your reels never leave the facility, and we return them after the transfer.
What file type will I receive?
MP4, MOV or AVI, on USB, DVD or by cloud download. Blu-ray is also available. We will help you choose based on how you plan to watch or edit.
How does pricing work?
You pay only for usable footage, not for leaders or blank space between splices. For a quote, tell us your reel sizes and an estimated total runtime.
How long does a reel transfer take?
It depends on how many reels you bring. Contact us for a current turnaround estimate. Rush service may be available.
Can I get extra copies for family?
Yes. We can make extra copies on DVD, Blu-ray or USB, or help you set up cloud delivery for easy sharing.
