Common questions
What is VHS-C?
VHS-C is a compact version of VHS made for camcorders. The cassette is smaller than a standard VHS tape, so it will not play in a normal VCR without an adapter.
Do I need to bring a VHS-C adapter?
No. Just bring the tapes. We handle playback in house.
How much does VHS-C transfer cost?
$24.95 per tape.
How long does it take?
Usually about 2 weeks. We work through orders first in, first out, so timing depends on how many orders are ahead of yours.
What do I get back?
Your video on a DVD, a USB thumb drive or a cloud download, whichever you choose. Your original tapes come back too.
Can I get more than one delivery option?
Yes. You can combine DVD, USB and cloud download on the same order.
What file format do I get?
USB and cloud download files are MP4, which plays on most computers, phones and tablets.
Which delivery option should I choose?
Pick DVD if you want to watch on a TV with a DVD player. Pick USB or download if you want to watch on a computer or phone, make copies or share with family.
Do I get my original tapes back?
Yes. Your original tapes are always returned.
Are my tapes sent out to another company?
No. The transfer is done in house at our Louisville East store on Westport Road.
